David Segel is Chairman of the international derivatives trading firm, The Mako Group. David graduated with a BA from Yale University in 1986 and then became an active floor trader on many of the world’s exchanges. In 2000, he launched the Mako Group, a market-maker and hedge fund operator based in London that dominates its field in derivatives pricing and relative value asset management. David serves as Chairman for Alpha USA, as well as a Director on the Board of Alpha International. Alpha is a non-profit organization introducing people to Christianity through the Alpha course, a 10-week introduction to the Christian faith, run in churches of all denominations worldwide. David also works as a Patron for Hope HIV and as a Trustee of Call to Business. David and his family currently reside in Los Angeles, California where he is working to develop trading platforms and investment products. He is also active in the media business, and recently launched Mpower Worldwide, which produces and manages motion pictures, media and internet content.
